Meet Mea Reeves
Mea Reeves, a student at Dobyns-Bennett High School in Kingsport, TN is our next outstanding student. Her teacher, Julie Kumar, said, “Mea is a standout student who exemplifies respect and kindness towards her classmates and faculty. After moving to DB from a smaller school in her senior year, she quickly adapted and embraced her new environment. She consistently fulfills her responsibilities and actively seeks out opportunities to grow, particularly in her passion for becoming a chef. Mea's attention to detail and dedication to her goals are evident in her work ethic. She consistently goes above and beyond in all her endeavors, making her a deserving candidate for the JAG student spotlight.”
Mea is an aspiring chef with a strong passion for the culinary arts. Currently a senior at Dobyns-Bennett, she has dedicated three years to honing her culinary skills, with plans for a fourth year to further develop her expertise. As a participant in the Upward Bound Program, Mea took advantage of a summer job shadowing opportunity at Brumley's Restaurant in the General Morgan Inn, gaining valuable hands-on experience in a professional kitchen. In addition to her culinary training, Mea has completed her ServSafe certification for food handlers and is on track to earn her ServSafe Food Manager certification. She is also excited to participate in an internship at The Crum Bum, a local bakery in Kingsport, where she will continue to build her skills and knowledge in the culinary field. Mea’s commitment to her goals, coupled with her enthusiasm for learning, makes her a remarkable student and future chef.
We are proud to spotlight Mea as our outstanding student.
