Meet Tylan Johnson

Tylan Johnson, a Senior JAGTN student at Huntingdon High School, is a young man who excels in many different areas. He is currently a Mustang Mentor, which is a Senior that was chosen by interview and application/essay to mentor the primary and middle school students, a true ambassador for Huntingdon High School. He is definitely the example those younger students need as a mentor.  He is also involved in many leadership roles: AB Club, Beta Club, Student Council, Link Crew, Homeroom Class Representative, Math Club, and Drama Club.  Tylan shows he is responsible by working two jobs while being so active in school and maintaining a high GPA.  His leadership skills are excellent and his involvement in many different areas shows he is willing to lead, not only through high school events but also community events.

Tylan has been accepted at the University of TN at Martin and will major in Health and Human Performance to become a chiropractor.  Ironically, that definitely shows his desire to be successful and give back to the community through the medical field. He is at his best when talking, presenting, and showing others what needs to be done or just leading others in a task.  He is on the worship team at Overflow Church and excels through his singing talent.  Just recently, Tylan and another student attended Beta Convention and participated in the talent competition.  His singing and stage presence was one of confidence, smooth vocals, and all around talent.  They placed 2nd in the competition and he will be attending the National Beta Convention to compete.  He was also chosen as a “Premiere Performer” due to his vocals and confidence on the stage. Tylan’s Beta Sponsor, Ms. Shanna Boyd, says, “It has been so exciting to see Tylan change from a shy, reserved freshman to singing in front of thousands at our state Beta Convention. I know that his self confidence has increased as a result of Mustang Mentors and JAGTN.”

Huntingdon High School is proud of all their students and certainly proud of Senior JAGTN student, Tylan Johnson. His talents in so many areas will definitely guide him through his future career and life.
